We have a great variety of programs for ages 2 months to 5th graders, including weekly Storytimes, Family Activities, Arts & Crafts, and More! Our programs are educational and entertaining, and FREE!
!!NEW!! Registration for all programs occurring January 1 through March 31 will open on January 1 for Nyack School District patrons. Beginning January 11, registration for all programs will start for out of district patrons.
Once a program fills, patrons will be placed on a waiting list and contacted only if there is room in the program.

All programs are free, and priority is given to residents of the Nyack School District. Group size is limited.
Please notify us of cancellations in order to allow more children to attend our programs.
Programs are designed for the intended age group.
Please make alternate arrangements for other children for infant and toddler programs.
Registration is required for all programs (unless noted otherwise).
Registration for our Spring Programs, April 1 through June 30, will start on March 7. Out of District patrons may register starting March 21.

1000 Books Before Kindergarten: This program promotes reading to newborns, infants, toddlers, and children up to Kindergarten. The goal is to have read 1000 books before your child starts Kindergarten. Stop by the Children’s Room any time to sign up, get more information, and your first reading record.
February is Black History Month: Come and take a walk through history in the Children’s Room to celebrate the accomplishments of the Civil Rights Movement.
Teddy Bear Stories Select Wednesdays, at 6:30pm Ages 2 and up with adult(s). You can wear your PJs and bring your favorite snuggly friend for this night-time Family Storytime. Jan. 20, Feb. 17, Mar. 9
School Closing Crafts Select dates from 1-4:30pm Ages 3 and up with adult(s). Drop in during the following school closing days to create a cool craft – a different craft for each day. Monday, Jan. 18 – Martin Luther King Day Peace Quilt Friday, Feb. 19- Mid Winter Recess Drop in – no registration.
Celebrate ‘Take Your Child to the Library Day’! Saturday, Feb. 6. Outragehisss…Pets! 11am. Ages 3 & up. Join us for an informative and exciting animal program. Meet and pet some new live animal friends! Registration required. Library Treasure Hunt: Find all the clues in the Children’s Room and win a prize! Drop in all day – no registration. For all ages with adult(s).
Make a Valentine Feb. 8 – 14. Drop in the Children’s Room anytime from Feb. 8-14 to create a Valentine for the one you love! No registration.
Movie Time! Watch a movie on the big screen with friends while school is closed for mid-winter recess! Minions, Rated PG, Monday, Feb. 15 at 1pm. 101 Dalmatians, (1961) Rated G, Thursday, Feb. 18 at 1pm. No registration.

Open Playtime Jan. 4 – June 13 (no program 5/30) Mondays from 10am-1pm Ages 5 and under. It’s play-time in the Storytime Room, no matter what the weather brings! A great chance to meet other local families while you enjoy books, games, toys and puzzles with your little one(s). Drop in – no registration.
Snuggly Babies Fridays at 10:30am Ages 2 mos.-18 mos. w/adult. Weekly movement, rhymes & music. Please make alternate arrangements for other children. Jan. 22-Mar. 11(no program 2/19).
Toddler Time Thursdays at 10:30am Ages 19-35 mos. w/adult. Weekly storytime with books and beyond! Please make alternate arrangements for other children. Jan. 21-Mar. 10(no program 2/18).
Pre-K Snowflakes Tuesdays at 10:30am OR Wednesdays at 4:30pm (choose one). Weekly storytimes for ages 3 – Kindergarten. Foster a love of books and learning in our exciting early literacy storytime designed to help you prepare children for Kindergarten. Parents welcome! Early Literacy Adventure: Dora’s Luau Friday, Jan. 29 at 11am Ages 2-5 years with adults ¡Vámonos! everyone! Solve our literacy puzzles and play fun games while we hunt for treasure on Dora’s Hawaiian Adventure!
Musical Munchkins Select Mondays at 10:30am Ages 2-5 years Join Miss Joanne for a fun filled introduction to music with Musical Munchkins! She’ll bring her guitar and lots of instruments, props and puppets, all designed to nurture children's love of music through singing and movement. Feb. 8, 15, 29, and March 14. Picture Book Pals: Book Clubs for Grades K-1* Select Mondays at 5pm Join us to read these great books together and then do some fun activities based on the story. Books will be available at the Children’s Room Desk one week prior to the program. Jan. 11: Winter on the Farm, by Laura Ingalls Wilder. (Registration for Nyack School District and out of district starts January 1.) Feb. 8: Sweet Tooth, by Margie Palatini. Bookaneers: Book Clubs for Grades 2-5** Books will be available at the Children’s Room Desk one month prior to the program. Select Mondays at 5pm Jan. 25: Who was Elvis Presley? by Geoff Edgers. We’ll discuss Elvis and his impact on music, as we listen to his songs, watch performances, and make a cool craft to take home. March 14: Charlotte’s Web, by E.B. White. Join us to discuss this classic book, watch a clip from the movie, and create a craft to take home. **Books will be available at the Children’s Room Desk one month prior to the program.

Be a Computer Coder! Wednesday, Feb. 17 at 1pm Grades 2-6 Come and experiment during mid-winter recess with a program called Scratch! With Scratch, Coder-Kidz will help you program your own interactive story, or game, or animation.
“Pizza, Pizza” Math Game Wednesday, Mar. 16 at 5pm Grades K-2 If you can roll the dice, you can play this strategy game where we will make a giant “pizza” with toppings!
Brain Games Wednesday, Mar. 23 at 5pm Grades 1-5 Could you build a tower from spoons and straws? Do you like puzzles and riddles? Join us for an afternoon of mind-bending and gut-busting new brainteasers and challenges.
