- Use the child's name to register.
- Program spots are limited and have age restrictions. Once a program fills, patrons will be placed on a waiting list and contacted only if there is room in the program.
- Priority is given to residents of the Nyack School District.
- Residents outside of the Nyack School District may register for remaining program spots after Nyack School District patrons.
- Please notify us directly by phone of cancellations.
- Programs are designed for the intended age group.
- Registration is required for all programs (unless noted otherwise).

1000 Books Before Kindergarten: This program promotes reading to newborns, infants, toddlers, and children up to Kindergarten. The goal is to have read 1000 books before your child starts Kindergarten. Stop by the Children’s Room any time to sign up, get more information, and your first reading record.

A great big “Thank You” and “Congratulations”
to our patron Isabella Feeney for creating ‘Turn the Pages’ interactive book display as her Gold Award Girl Scout project! Middle Schoolers and High Schoolers are invited to recommend great books using this permanent display in the Children’s Room. Younger children are invited to look at the display and take home a recommended book or two. If they bring back the included sheet telling librarians why they liked the book, they will get a prize for participating. Middle and High School kids will earn community service hours for making recommendations. Stop by to learn more!

Let’s have some fun creating your own fictional or autobiographical book to celebrate National Library Week! Younger children can have their adult help them write their story and they can illustrate it, and older children can write and illustrate their own story. Book length is up to you!

Drop in the Children’s Room anytime to make a card for a local senior citizen honoring service men and women on Memorial Day! Decorate and write a note on your card, then we’ll give them to Meals on Wheels to deliver them to seniors and brighten their day.

Celebrate Spring with our Garden Tea Party Adventure! We’ll explore our indoor “garden” while solving puzzles and playing games with ABC’s and 123’s. Then during our play tea party, we’ll make a craft for our feathered and fuzzy party guests.
